4-Week Relaxation Challenge

Let us know which is your ‘go to’ deep relaxation practice here in the comments…

Reporting in on how I’ve been getting on. I’ve only missed one day in the last seven, but I have to say I’m not always as present as I’d like to be while I’m listening to it. It feels like I need my mindfulness meditation practice to support my relaxation practice, if you see what I mean.
So actually listening to the relaxation audios is going well AND I’d like to be meditating more consistently first thing in the morning. It’s so hot here now that we tend to make the most of first thing when it’s still a little cool to get other things done. I guess I could use swimming time for mindfulness practice instead! Yes, that sounds great!! I like it – a lot!
Do let us know how it’s going…

Catherine!
Swimming for mindfulness sounds great, I was doing that with my yoga, now it has turned into meditation again. I have to say I haven’t been listening to the audio for the last week, but I have made my morning meditation longer, around 30 minutes, then my morning thanks ritual and taking it slow for a bit. I’m starting the mornings a bit later as I stopped doing exercise with my colleague at work so I’ve come back to my old morning routine.
I feel I need exercise now, I really want to join a group or get moving again as I’m finding it hard to motivate myself. I’ve also been getting out of London quite a lot, so that is good! Oh I really want to move out of London soon 😀
I’ll go back to the audio in the evenings as it helps relax from the day.
How is it going for everyone else??
Looking forward to catch up next week 🙂

Hey guys!!
I’m meditating around 15/20min every morning at the moment + some stretching, then I do my morning prayers and after that a couple of songs dancing! It takes about an hour or more but it is well worth it! The morning starts so different when I don’t do it.
How’s everyone else doing?
-
Awesome, Santi! I’ve been listening to a lovely Sarah McCrum audio every day – have only missed one day since we all last met. Love the idea of starting the day with some dancing! Are you managing to get to the studio early and leave early each day?
-
Nice! It makes a big difference doing it, I actually missed yesterday but it was a relaxing day anyway 🙂 I’ve struggled to go early to the studio this last week but I’m going back to it! 😀

Hi everyone,
I’ve just done my first relaxation. I decided to use Catherine’s.
I was given extra impetus to do some relaxation today because I suffered a bad back spasm yesterday evening and I’ve been hauled up in bed today. Interestingly, giving some attention to the breath and the subtle movement of my shoulder blades during the meditation led to some interesting observations that I think could be relevant to my back suffering this injury. Namely, a constriction, not an expansion, of the upper back, upon breathing in.
Aside for that it brought me to a nice place of relaxation on a day otherwise punctuated by pain.
Good luck all with the rest of the challenge!

Sorry to hear you’ve been in pain, Dan. Breathing into it and relaxing around it can only help. We tend to tense around pain which only exacerbates it. Great that it’s also given you some insight into the situation. I do hope it is starting to ease already.
More TLC needed and more relaxation – a perfect time for the Relaxation Challenge!

Hi everyone, I have made a 3 point plan which is about the relaxation challenge but includes broader Fiat/leap.
1) 10 mins everyday with bare feet on the earth taking time to connect and be on the Earth
2) x3 times a week go into Nature for min of 2 hours. Mostly for stillness of being rather than hefty hiking! Sit silently, allow silence and space, observe inner and outer. No phone no books. Yes to binoculars.
3) x 5 days a week yoga/ activation/ relaxation at least half hour .
Keep a log.
So its day 2 and guess what… I am doing SOOO well! Let’s see what happens by this time next month. Am optimistic but forgiving. 😊
Hope you are all doing brilliantly at caring for your amazing selves. Hugs.

Fantastic, Anita! How’s it going now, a few days later? Let us know if any of us can support you in any way. I imagine the rewards are motivating enough in themselves…
