My word for 2022 is Play. I’ve ordered some new wheels for my rollerblades – watch this space!

My sentence is ‘I’m feeling called to deepen my connection with the Divine’. I had some water left over in my glass after our ceremony so I put it on my shrine/altar and have been sipping it daily, connecting with the intention, feeling the power of having that witnessed, blessed and supported by all of you…

Wonderful, Wendy, thank you for sharing that here. You’re obviously really engaging with the process and with your powerful Fiat so well done. It’s lovely to hear that you’re feeling so much more positive now. Remember also when saying your Fiat to yourself, to really picture yourself working with those clients online and feel that feeling of empowerment. I get the impression you probably are already…

I think a particularly helpful time to say one’s Fiat to oneself is when the voice of self-doubt or the inner critic comes up. So it’s a way of saying to that voice, ‘I hear you, but I’m not buying into you.’ This is where our self-awareness and mindfulness comes into play. Great stuff!

Wonderful, Vivian, I totally agree. ‘Doings’ that are already happening don’t need Fiats to call them in. Do share your Fiat of your vision here!

Great question, Patrick and in response I want to ask you another. Are you trying to be someone you’re not? Maybe you need support from someone who can handle that side of things so that you can focus on the creative? Maybe you simply need a fundraiser? Food for thought… sending you lots of good vibes with it.

I’d love to echo that thank you, Jacqui, for ‘the beautiful music that eased us in and out of the ritual space of the series’. Beautifully put. And thank you to Bharati too. It’s been so lovely to have your presence on every conversation helping to bring in the sacred. 🙏

Beautifully expressed, Jacqui. I’ve heard a little about what’s been happening in Canada, but could do with looking into it further.

Yes, they truly are helping us to wake up and look at the collective shadow of our colonial past. There’s certainly a lot of work to do to heal the compounded, transgenerational trauma. As Luisah Teish points out in her conversation, those on both sides of the colonial fence are wounded by it.

Lovely to see you engaging so fully with the material we’ve been sharing.

Well said, Jacqui. I think that’s why the Ecocide law is so promising. I know Polly Higgins, the visionary lawyer who proposed the law, was involved in a lawsuit against both Shell and the Dutch government. You can find out more here: https://www.stopecocide.earth/

I feel we each have our own unique contribution to bring at this time, whatever we love to do, that fills us with joy whilst being in service to something larger. Whatever you can do helps, but if you also feel called to do more, that could be worth exploring. What can you feel whispering to you…?

Feeling inspired by this whole thread to go and seek out some holy wells here in Catalonia – thank you so much everyone! Beautiful and heart-warming!

Thank you for your affirming words, Jacqui. In terms of the horrors of colonialism, I’ve been on my own journey while we’ve been creating this series. During our conversation with Judy Atkinson it suddenly dawned on my that it was my British ancestors who had wreaked such violence on the Australian Aboriginals. My sense is we need some kind of Truth and Reconciliation process like in South Africa – in so many invaded, colonised countries around the world…

Wonderful, thank you Annabel! Looking forward to hearing more about what is percolating for you right now. Excited for you! I find the notion that we’re called to different projects at different times, albeit probably with a similar undercurrent, helpful. We don’t have to agonise over THE one big calling. As we evolve so our callings evolve…

Yes, I’ve come across Humanity Rising but not connected with them as such…

Beautiful, Dinesh – thanks for sharing that. I love the idea of water carrying our intentions and prayers around the world and of course it makes total sense. Swithin has been having daily outdoor cold showers too. Not for me at this time of year I’m afraid – I’ll stick to the summer months for now, although I’m sure we’ll be in the sea over the coming weeks and months. I’ll do my best to remember to pray in the water!

Wonderful, Annabel! There’s a carob tree near here that I got into the habit of visiting regularly. I always speak to him/her in Catalan. My beginner’s Catalan means the conversation is a bit limited! I read a fascinating, paradigm shifting article a few years ago about native languages that have an extra pronoun for trees, plants, etc. The idea being that a huge part of our separation from nature comes from the fact that we use the pronoun ‘it’ to describe natural things (think mountain, river) thus depersonalising and objectifying them and distancing ourselves from them. I’m not doing justice to the article… wish I could find it again… It made for powerful reading.
